Position Overview and Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand blueprints and the building codes relating to residential, commercial and agricultural projects
  • Accurately interpret architectural and structural drawings when designing roof and floor layouts using Mitek Sapphire Software, ensuring correct loading has been applied
  • Communicate courteously and effectively with an exceptional customer service attitude to maintain excellent client interaction
  • Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers
  • Make an effort to contribute proactively to the improvement of all systems and procedures

Qualifications:

  • A technical science diploma or equivalent education and experience is preferred
  • Complete understanding of all current building code requirements
  • Experience in line manufacturing processes (Lean Manufacturing)
  • Good computer skills with an exceptional understanding of Microsoft Office

Production Labourer

Position Overview:

As a production labourer, you will play a vital role in the production processes of engineered trusses. Working within a dynamic team environment under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will be responsible for supporting various aspects of truss manufacturing to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the production facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Truss Assembly – This involves tasks such as feeding the saw, positioning lumber, fastening plates.
  • Material Handling – Safely transport materials within the manufacturing facility/yard, using forklifts or other required equipment.
  • Quality Control – Conduct visual inspections of materials to identify any defects or irregularities and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • General Housekeeping – Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping floors, disposing of waste materials, and adhering to established cleanliness protocols.
  • Safety Compliance – Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, participating in safety training programs, and ensuring that all lockout procedures are followed.
  • Team Collaboration – Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to achieve production targets and deadlines. Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks, address challenges, and contribute to a positive and productive team atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing/industrial/construction environment is an asset
  • Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16″ increments
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions
